How we built a nine-day trip around a four-year-old, a teenager and two grandparents, without anybody being bored.
The brief was difficult: three generations, an age range of seventy years, and a four-year-old who could not sit in a vehicle for six hours.
The answer was a private house in a conservancy with its own vehicle and guide, so the family could split every day: an early drive for the teenagers and grandparents, a late breakfast and a pool afternoon for the youngest.
Nine days, one move, no airports after the first flight. It is almost always the right shape for a family trip.
